Twelve nations will converge in Nairobi on November 7 and 8 for the 2026 Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Cup, with the continental title and a place in World Rugby’s SVNS Division 3 at stake.
The two-day tournament will be held at the RFUEA Grounds, where teams will compete for Africa’s sole qualification slot in the international sevens circuit.
Kenya’s Lionesses will be hoping to use home advantage to secure the title after finishing runners-up in the previous edition. The hosts have been drawn in Pool B alongside Tunisia, Ghana and Egypt.
Defending champions South Africa headline Pool A, where they will face Zambia, Zimbabwe and Rwanda in the group stage.
Pool C features Uganda, Madagascar, Mauritius and Burkina Faso, completing the 12-team line-up for the tournament.
The competition presents Kenya with an opportunity to build on its previous performance and challenge for the continental crown in front of home supporters.
South Africa, meanwhile, will be seeking to defend their title against a field that includes several teams aiming to secure qualification for the next stage of international sevens competition.
With a place in SVNS Division 3 available to the continental winner, the tournament carries added significance for the participating nations as they compete for both African honours and a pathway to the international circuit.
