The Netherlands secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Serbia at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven on Sunday, maintaining their strong start to the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League campaign.

The hosts took the lead in the 31st minute when Teun Koopmeiners found the net from a free-kick, giving the Netherlands an early advantage.
Serbia responded quickly, however, with Mihajlo Cvetković restoring parity four minutes later to send the two sides into the break level at 1-1.
The decisive moment came in the 72nd minute, when substitute Joshua Zirkzee tapped home to put the Netherlands back in front. The Dutch held firm for the remainder of the contest to claim all three points.
The victory continues an impressive Nations League run for the Netherlands under head coach Xavi Hernández. The Oranje had earlier beaten Serbia 2-1 in Belgrade, before drawing 2-2 with Greece.
For Serbia, the defeat leaves them still searching for their first points in Group A2 after four consecutive losses in the competition.
The result further strengthens the Netherlands’ position in a tightly contested Group A2, with Greece and Germany also battling for the top places.
