Portugal continued their impressive start to the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Norway at the Estádio do Dragão in Porto on Sunday night.
The result means Portugal have maintained their perfect record in Group A4, having already defeated Wales, Norway and Denmark in their opening fixtures.
Norway struck first through Kristoffer Ajer, who put the visitors ahead with a superb half-volley.
Portugal responded almost immediately, with João Cancelo restoring parity just two minutes later.
The hosts completed the comeback after the break when Gonçalo Ramos found the decisive goal, sending Portugal into a 2-1 lead and ultimately securing another valuable three points.
The victory is particularly significant as Portugal played without captain Cristiano Ronaldo, who had left the national team camp following tensions with head coach Jorge Jesus.
Ronaldo’s absence had dominated the build-up to the match, but Portugal once again showed their depth by delivering another victory.
For Norway, the defeat leaves them with just one victory from their opening four Group A4 matches and increases the pressure on the side led by Erling Haaland.
Portugal’s latest win further strengthens their position at the top of Group A4 as they continue their pursuit of another Nations League title.
