The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) has added Family Bank to its Banking Index and revised its bond index to provide a broader picture of returns earned by investors.
The changes took effect on November 2, bringing the number of banks tracked by the NSE Banking Index to 12.
Family Bank was included following its listing on the securities exchange in March 2026.
The NSE has also revised its bond index to capture both changes in bond prices and interest earned by investors, providing a more comprehensive measure of performance in the fixed-income market.
NSE Chief Executive Frank Mwiti said the changes would improve market transparency and support informed investment decisions.
He added that the revised indices could create opportunities for the development of new investment products, including exchange-traded funds.
The changes form part of the exchange’s efforts to deepen Kenya’s capital markets and attract greater participation from both local and international investors.
