Police in Nairobi have recovered 17 assorted mobile phones and arrested two suspects during a crackdown on suspected receivers of stolen property in Kiamaiko.

The operation was conducted on Monday, October 5, 2026, by officers from Huruma Police Station in Starehe Sub-County, targeting individuals suspected of dealing in stolen mobile phones within the area.

Among the recovered phones were six Samsung A15 devices, seven Tecno phones, one Redmi 15C, one Realme Note, one Oppo 3x and one Infinix handset.

Police said the two suspects were arrested during the targeted operation and escorted to Huruma Police Station, where they were placed in lawful custody.

The suspects are expected to undergo processing before being arraigned in court as police continue investigations into the source of the recovered phones and possible links to other cases of mobile phone theft.

The crackdown comes amid continued efforts by security agencies to curb the trade in stolen electronic devices and dismantle networks involved in receiving and reselling stolen property.
