President William Ruto has reappointed Titus Korir as the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) Board Chairman for a second three-year term, extending his leadership of the institution responsible for managing and conserving Kenya’s forests.
According to a Gazette Notice dated October 9, 2026, Korir’s new term as Non-Executive Chairman will take effect on October 14, 2026.
In a separate appointment, Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Deborah Barasa has reappointed Jane Simita Munka as a member of the KFS Board for another three-year term.
Munka’s reappointment was also announced in a Gazette Notice published on October 9, 2026.
The two appointments are expected to provide continuity in the leadership of the board as the Kenya Forest Service continues implementing its forest management and conservation responsibilities.
KFS Chief Conservator of Forests Alex Lemarkoko congratulated Korir and Munka on their reappointments, acknowledging their contributions to the service during their first terms.
Lemarkoko noted that their leadership and guidance at the board level had played an instrumental role in helping the institution achieve several milestones.
The reappointments come amid the country’s continued focus on forest conservation, environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources.
Korir will now begin his second term on October 14, while Munka will continue serving on the board for a further three years.
