The Edwin Sifuna-led Equitable Party has issued a public notice seeking to change its name to Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM), alongside plans to introduce a new constitution, party colours, headquarters and official symbol.

The proposed changes signal a major organisational shift for the outfit, which is seeking to adopt the Linda Mwananchi Movement identity.

According to the notice, the party intends to amend several key aspects of its identity and structure, including its name, governing constitution, colours, headquarters and symbol.

The proposed rebranding is expected to give the movement a distinct identity as it seeks to establish its organisational footing in Kenya’s political landscape.

The name Linda Mwananchi Movement places emphasis on the interests of ordinary citizens, although the party’s specific plans and policy priorities under the proposed identity remain to be outlined.

The changes are subject to the applicable legal and regulatory procedures governing political parties in Kenya.
