Linda Mwananchi Movement Party leader Edwin Sifuna has called for greater transparency and accountability in government projects, pledging that the Linda Mwananchi Movement will push for public access to all project contracts if given the opportunity.
In a statement shared on social media, Sifuna said the movement is committed to making government project agreements accessible to the public, citing transparency, accountability and sustainable development as key constitutional values that should guide the management of public resources.
Sifuna questioned the Ruto administration’s reluctance to make certain project agreements public, alleging that Kenyans are being denied access to critical information about major infrastructure and development projects.
“Transparency, Accountability, sustainable development. The Linda Mwananchi Movement promise is to make all project contracts available to the public in conformity with these three Constitutional Values,” Sifuna stated.
He cited several major projects, including the Bomas project, Talanta Stadium, the Rironi Highway and the proposed Lamu refinery, arguing that the lack of public access to their agreements raises concerns over how public resources are being utilised.
“We all know why the Ruto regime hides these agreements. From Bomas to Talanta to Rironi highway to Lamu refinery, we are being robbed blind,” he added.
The senator’s remarks have reignited debate over transparency in public procurement, government contracting and the accountability of public officials in the implementation of major development projects.
