Tana River Governor retired Major Dhadho Godhana has declared that he will run for president in the 2027 General Election through the Federal Party of Kenya, which he leads.
Godhana made the announcement in Mombasa while attending the seventh Pwani Innovation Week Conference, saying his goal is to transform Kenya and build a nation founded on unity, equality and solidarity.
He said he believes he can challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 presidential race, arguing that the country needs a change in leadership.
The governor also revealed that he plans to unveil a political coalition soon, a move he said will further shape his preparations ahead of the 2027 General Election.
His announcement adds to the growing list of politicians positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 race as coalition talks continue across the political landscape.
