Police officers in Kiambu County have arrested three suspects and seized 483 rolls of cannabis sativa in two separate intelligence-led operations targeting narcotics trafficking.

The operations were conducted on Monday, October 12, 2026, by officers from Kibiku and Kimuchu police stations.

In the first operation, officers from Kibiku Police Station raided Wangige Town following a tip-off and arrested two suspects allegedly involved in distributing cannabis sativa.

A search conducted during the operation led to the recovery of 73 rolls of bhang from the suspects, while a subsequent search of their hideout uncovered an additional 307 rolls.

Police also seized approximately 10 grammes of unprocessed cannabis sativa, bringing the total recovery from the operation to 380 rolls.

In a separate operation targeting the Corner One area, officers from Kimuchu Police Station arrested another suspect allegedly involved in narcotics trafficking.

The suspect was found in possession of 103 rolls of cannabis sativa, which were confiscated by the officers.

All three suspects were taken to their respective police stations and placed in custody pending processing and arraignment in court.

The seized substances were secured as exhibits as police continued investigations into the cases.

In a statement, the National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to conducting intelligence-led operations to combat the distribution of illicit drugs and illegal brews across the country.
