A lawyer has vowed to pursue possible legal action over alleged paternity fraud after DNA results established that his client was not the biological father of a child he had supported for approximately seven years.
Lawyer Shadrack Wambui told the court that his client was devastated by the findings, having invested in the child’s upbringing and education under the belief that he was the biological father.
“The conclusion is that xxxxxx is excluded as the biological father to the child,” the court was told as the findings of a DNA report dated August 12, 2026, were read out.
Reacting to the results, Wambui said his client was dissatisfied with the outcome and would consider further legal action against the respondent over what he described as paternity fraud.
“My client has been a victim of paternity fraud for the last about seven years and counting,” the lawyer told the court.
He added that his client would be advised on the appropriate legal steps to take over the alleged deception.
Following the DNA findings, Wambui applied to withdraw the ongoing proceedings, arguing that the results had established that his client was not the child’s biological father.
He also requested a copy of the DNA report to help his client understand his legal position regarding the minor.
“We will be applying with humility that these proceedings be marked as withdrawn. Further, we will be praying that you furnish us with a copy of that DNA report so that we can serve it upon our client, who will be guided factually as to his legal status,” Wambui told the court.
The lawyer also expressed regret over the time spent litigating the matter, apologising to the court for proceedings that had lasted approximately two years.
“We have educated this child, Your Honour. We have given him everything,” he said, conveying his client’s disappointment following the DNA results.
Despite the outcome, Wambui thanked the court for its assistance in handling the dispute.
The proceedings had centred on establishing the paternity of the minor, with the DNA report ruling out the man as the child’s biological father.
The lawyer’s remarks indicate that his client may pursue further legal avenues over the alleged deception, although no details of any subsequent case were provided.
