Police in Machakos County have arrested three suspects linked to a series of robberies and recovered ten mobile phones believed to have been stolen.
The arrests followed an operation conducted on Thursday, October 8, which began along Quarry Road, where officers apprehended the first suspect over an alleged robbery incident along Beijing Road.
During the incident, a mobile phone and KSh 10,000 were reportedly stolen.
A subsequent search at the suspect’s residence led to the recovery of a machete, a grey combat jacket and motorcycle number plates suspected to be connected to the criminal activities.
Police said the suspect later led officers to two alleged accomplices, bringing the total number of arrests to three.
Among those arrested is a suspect believed to have been receiving stolen mobile phones, allegedly facilitating the circulation of stolen property.
Officers also searched a second suspect’s residence in the Embala area of Mlolongo, where they recovered ten assorted mobile phones suspected to have been stolen.
The three suspects remain in police custody pending arraignment in court, where they are expected to face relevant charges.
The arrests form part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to tackle robbery incidents and recover stolen property in Machakos County.
