The United States government has announced rewards totalling up to $50 million for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of three senior leaders of the Venezuelan criminal gang Tren de Aragua (TdA).
In a statement issued on Friday, November 6, the US Department of State said the new and increased rewards were being offered through its Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program (TOCRP), in coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Department of Justice.
The largest reward, up to $20 million, has been offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Yohan José Romero, also known as “Yohan Petrica”, whose previous reward offer stood at $4 million.
The US government also increased its reward for Giovanni Vicente Mosquera Serrano, alias “Giovanni” and “El Viejo”, from $5 million to $15 million.
A separate reward of up to $15 million has been announced for Juan Gabriel Rivas Núñez, also known as “Juancho”.
According to US court documents, Romero is the current leader of Tren de Aragua and allegedly directs the group’s activities, including drug trafficking, illegal gold mining in Venezuela and murders.
Mosquera Serrano and Rivas Núñez are identified as his second-in-command, with the former overseeing the gang’s operations in the United States, Colombia and Central America, while Rivas Núñez is said to be responsible for its activities in Venezuela.
Mosquera Serrano is also among the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives and is accused of directing several violent criminal activities, including robbery, extortion and kidnapping.
The three suspects were charged in a superseding indictment filed on July 29, 2026, at the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
The indictment accuses them of conspiracy to provide, providing and attempting to provide material support to a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). Mosquera Serrano faces additional charges relating to international cocaine distribution and conspiracy to distribute cocaine internationally.
The US government designated Tren de Aragua a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 2025 under the Trump Administration.
The State Department said the latest reward offers were authorised by the Assistant Secretary for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs as part of efforts to strengthen international law enforcement cooperation and dismantle transnational criminal networks.
Members of the public with information on the three fugitives have been urged to contact the FBI through phone, text, WhatsApp or Telegram on +1-281-787-9939.
Individuals outside the United States can also submit information through their nearest US embassy or consulate, while those within the country can contact their local FBI offices.
