West Pokot County Assembly Speaker Fredrick Kaptui Plimo and two other accused persons have been summoned to appear in court on November 5, 2026, for plea-taking in a case involving the alleged defrauding of Eco-Pillar Sacco Society Limited of KSh260,008,100.

The three were absent when the matter came up in court, prompting the court to issue summons requiring them to appear on the scheduled date. The court warned that warrants of arrest could be issued if they fail to comply.

Six other accused persons who appeared in court were charged with various offences linked to the alleged fraud and pleaded not guilty.

The nine accused are alleged to have conspired to defraud the Sacco between 2018 and 2025 through manipulation of transaction systems, creation of fraudulent accounts and fictitious loans, as well as unauthorised transfers of funds from Sacco accounts to personal bank accounts.

Those named in the case are Plimo, Linus Lokira, Paul Lokitari Ywapamoi, Kodich Ward MCA Leonard Pchakas an Domoita, Nicholas Toroitich Arusho, Andrew Poriot Lorema, Susan Chesang, Florence Chemotwo and Francis Atodosia.

The accused include former senior Sacco officials, among them chief executive officers, finance officers and ICT officers.

They face various charges, including conspiracy to defraud, stealing by servant, cheating, unauthorised interference with a computer system and abuse of office.

Plimo, Ywapamoi and Atodosia were the three accused who failed to appear in court and are expected to take plea on November 5.

Meanwhile, the six who appeared in court were remanded pending a ruling on their bond terms, which is scheduled for November 2, 2026.

The prosecution was led by Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Patrick Okango, assisted by Faith Koech, Jairus Onkoba, Stephene Mokaya, Gregory Suter, Victor Mamati and Clinton Kere.
