United Nations human rights experts have raised concern over the failure to publish findings from a Commission of Inquiry established following the post-election violence in Tanzania, one year after the unrest.
In a statement, the UN Special Procedures experts said victims were still waiting for the commission’s findings to be made public.
The experts also condemned what they described as patterns of repression targeting civil society organisations, journalists and human rights defenders.
They called attention to the continued concerns surrounding accountability for the violence and the treatment of those working to promote and protect human rights in the country.
