Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has commended the successful administration of the 2026 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), despite minor operational challenges reported in some parts of the country.
Ogamba said the national assessments had been conducted smoothly, with only a few isolated incidents reported during the examination period.
Speaking during the official opening of the examinations container at the Sotik Deputy County Commissioner’s Office in Bomet County, the CS expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of the examinations.
He noted that the challenges experienced included disruptions caused by adverse weather conditions, minor administrative irregularities and cases involving candidates who required medical attention.
Despite the incidents, Ogamba maintained that the examinations had proceeded successfully across the country, commending those involved in ensuring their smooth administration.
The 2026 KJSEA and KPSEA assessments are part of the country’s Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework, which evaluates learners’ progress at different levels of basic education.
