Kenyan singer Bien-Aimé Baraza, popularly known as Bien, has signed with US-based record label Quality Control (QC), marking a new step in his international music career.
The deal sees Quality Control expand its presence into Africa through a partnership involving the former Sauti Sol frontman, who spent nearly two decades building an international audience as part of the celebrated Kenyan band before pursuing a solo career.
Bien’s latest single, “I’ll Be Okay,” was released through a joint venture between Quality Control and Courtesy Of, offering a preview of his upcoming album, Alusa Continua, scheduled for release on November 20, 2026.
Quality Control Chief Operating Officer Kevin “Coach K” Lee praised the singer’s musical ability and stage presence, describing him as an experienced performer capable of commanding a stadium with just a guitar.
QC Chief Executive Officer Pierre “P” Thomas also expressed confidence in Bien’s potential, citing his songwriting, performance skills and established fan base as key strengths.
Thomas said the partnership would focus on expanding Bien’s global reach, adding that there was an opportunity to work alongside Nigerian Afrobeats star Tekno to bring their creative vision to life.
The upcoming album will follow Bien’s 2023 solo debut, Alusa Why Are You Topless?, which marked his transition into a solo career after his time with Sauti Sol.
The signing signals a new chapter for the Kenyan singer as he seeks to reach wider international audiences through the backing of an established American music company.
