The Eastleigh Property Developers Welfare and Business Association has apologised to families who lost loved ones in the building collapse in Eastleigh on Friday, October 23, 2026, pledging to continue providing humanitarian support to rescue teams until search operations are concluded.
Speaking to the media at the scene, where rescue operations are ongoing, Omar Ahmed, the Organising Secretary of the Eastleigh Business District Association, said the association would begin assessing buildings in the area suspected of being structurally unsafe or constructed without the required approvals.
Ahmed said the findings would be compiled into a report and submitted to the relevant authorities for review, with the aim of identifying potential risks and preventing similar incidents in the future.
The association also called on Nairobi County to review its building approval procedures and strategies to help reduce the risk of building collapses.
It further pledged to support families affected by the tragedy as rescue efforts continue.
