Four people have been rescued and taken to hospital following the collapse of a multi-storey building under construction along 9th Street in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
In an update on Sunday, October 25, the National Police Service (NPS) said search-and-rescue operations were ongoing following the incident, which occurred on Friday, October 23, 2026.
The police said they were supporting emergency responders at the scene as efforts continued to locate people who may still be trapped beneath the rubble.
Families seeking information about missing relatives have been advised to report to the Kenya Red Cross desk established at the scene or call the emergency response number 1199.
The NPS also urged members of the public to keep away from the affected site, particularly along Yusuf Haji Avenue and 9th Street, to allow rescue teams and specialised equipment to operate without obstruction.
