Political commentator Maverick Aoko has taken aim at Deputy President Kithure Kindiki following the emergence of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Oburu Oginga in hospital, where he celebrated his 83rd birthday amid speculation about his health and reports claiming he had died.

In a social media post, Aoko directly addressed Kindiki, accusing him and his office of informing her that Oburu was dead.

“Kithure Kindiki just pack up Prof, it is you and your office who told me Oburu is dead. I have every evidence needed,” Aoko wrote.

Her remarks came after Oburu appeared in hospital to mark his 83rd birthday, countering widespread speculation surrounding his whereabouts and wellbeing.

The controversy had attracted public attention, with questions emerging over the veteran politician’s health and the accuracy of claims circulating about his condition.

Aoko’s statement also raised questions about the source of the information she claims to have received from the Deputy President’s office.

However, her allegations have not been independently verified, and it remains unclear what evidence she says she possesses to support her claims.

Neither Kindiki nor his office had been confirmed as having publicly responded to Aoko’s accusations at the time of publication.

The incident highlights the speed at which unverified reports about public figures can spread on social media, particularly when they concern the health or death of prominent political leaders.
