FKF Premier League side Nairobi United have secured a major financial boost after signing a lucrative Sh380 million sponsorship deal with international betting firm SportyBet.

The three-year agreement, unveiled in Nairobi on Friday, November 6, 2026, will see SportyBet become the club’s official shirt sponsor as the Naibois seek to strengthen their position in Kenyan football and establish themselves as one of the country’s leading clubs.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Nairobi United Chief Executive Officer Nelson Odaya described the sponsorship as timely, expressing optimism that the financial backing would help the club achieve its continental ambitions.

“This sponsorship is timely. It will steer our path to returning to the continental stage, this time playing in the big one, the Champions League. I thank SportyBet for associating with us and believing in our journey. We can only promise them success,” Odaya said.

SportyBet Kenya Country Manager Dianne Maina also expressed confidence in the partnership, saying the company was delighted to support a club with a history of winning silverware.

“We are grateful to walk this journey with a team that has won medals before. We believe our coming on board will reignite the much-needed success this season and help the club go ahead and win trophies,” Maina stated.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, who is also the club’s patron, welcomed the partnership, challenging the players to target the FKF Premier League title this season.

“Our aim is to win the league this season. It will be our greatest achievement since the inception of the club in 2018. I am so proud of how far we have come. Getting a sponsor to give us this huge amount of money is not easy, and we appreciate SportyBet for partnering with us. Now it is up to us as a team to deliver results,” Sakaja said.

Club captain Ovella Ochieng also welcomed the sponsorship, urging supporters to remain patient as the team works to improve its performances following a difficult start to the campaign.

“I know we have not started well this season, but I am calling for patience. The results will come. I appreciate our new sponsors, SportyBet. Their coming on board is a big motivation to the team,” Ochieng said.

The sponsorship comes as Nairobi United seek to build on their recent achievements, having lifted the 2025 FKF Cup after defeating Gor Mahia in the final before making history by reaching the group stage of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Naibois will now be hoping the new financial backing provides the foundation for another successful campaign, with a return to the CAF Champions League among their key ambitions.
