The Kenya National Union of Nurses and Midwives (KNUNM) has urged the Ministry of Health to release delayed July 2026 stipend arrears owed to Nursing Officer Interns.

In a letter dated October 21, 2026, the union’s General Secretary, Seth Kuka Panyako, wrote to Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Bare Duale, requesting the immediate payment of the outstanding stipends.

The union warned that the delay had caused financial hardship among nursing interns and could disrupt their internship programmes.

KNUNM is seeking the ministry’s intervention to ensure the delayed payments are released.
