TikToker Obidan Dela has dismissed social media claims that former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has died, assuring Kenyans that he is alive and recovering in hospital.
In a Facebook video shared on Sunday, November 1, Obidan said he had received numerous calls from people concerned about Mosiria’s condition following rumours circulating online.
He said the former county official was responding to treatment and had been advised to rest as he continued recovering from an infection that led to his hospitalisation.
Obidan urged social media users to stop spreading unverified reports about Mosiria’s death, saying the claims had caused unnecessary concern among his supporters.
He added that he planned to visit Mosiria and that the former county official would address Kenyans when he was well enough.
Obidan also confirmed that plans to hold a celebration in Mosiria’s honour remained on course, with the event scheduled for November 8. He said the venue had changed and would be announced after booking arrangements were finalised.
Mosiria was taken to hospital on October 29 after reportedly becoming unwell during an evening meeting in Nairobi. He later said he had been diagnosed with an infection and thanked Kenyans for their messages and prayers.
