Russian missile and drone attacks damaged more than 10 energy facilities across Ukraine, leaving more than half a million households without power, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Monday.
The overnight strikes targeted several parts of the country, including Kyiv and surrounding areas, as well as regions farther from the capital.
According to Ukrainian officials, the attacks caused widespread electricity disruptions as emergency and repair teams assessed damage to critical infrastructure.
Zelenskyy also criticised Ukraine’s international partners, saying Kyiv had not received advance warning of the latest attack despite previous intelligence-sharing arrangements.
The remarks come amid growing uncertainty over Western military and intelligence support for Ukraine as its war with Russia continues.
Ukraine has repeatedly accused Russia of targeting energy infrastructure, raising concerns about the impact on electricity supplies, essential services and civilian life.
The latest strikes add pressure on Ukrainian authorities to restore damaged facilities while strengthening the country’s defences against further attacks.
The full extent of the damage and the time required to restore electricity to affected households were not immediately clear.
