President William Ruto has announced plans to construct 10 roads in Machakos County at a cost of KSh21 billion, saying the projects are part of the government’s efforts to open up all parts of the country for development.
Speaking to residents of Mwala in Machakos County, the Head of State said the planned road projects would improve connectivity and ensure communities benefit from government development initiatives.
“We are building 10 roads in Machakos County at a cost of KSh21 billion in our plan to open up every part of the country,” Ruto said.
The President also assured residents that his administration would address historical concerns over marginalisation and unequal distribution of development resources.
Addressing the residents, Ruto pledged that the people of Machakos would no longer be sidelined in the country’s development agenda, insisting that they would receive their rightful share of development.
He said the government’s infrastructure programme was aimed at extending development to all regions, with road construction expected to improve access to markets, public services and economic opportunities.
