A man identified as Moses Anyanga Ongwenyi, alias Masakara, has been convicted by the Principal Magistrate’s Court in Etago, Kisii County, over offences involving a six-year-old child.

Court documents show that Ongwenyi faced two charges under the Sexual Offences Act, including defilement contrary to Section 8(1) as read with Section 8(3), and committing an indecent act with a child contrary to Section 11(1).

The prosecution accused him of committing the offences on January 31, 2026, at Kiagware Sub-Location in Kabiero, Etago Sub-County.

He was arrested on the same day and subsequently faced trial before Resident Magistrate Um. Moguche, who convicted him.

The warrant also indicated that the accused had 14 days within which to appeal the decision.
