Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Lang’ata have arrested a suspect linked to a robbery in which a woman was assaulted and robbed of her Samsung S24 Ultra phone along Lang’ata Road in Nairobi.
According to the DCI, the incident occurred near Luqman Petrol Station, opposite Uhuru Gardens, where the woman was walking when two men riding a motorcycle allegedly accosted her in broad daylight.
The pillion passenger reportedly assaulted the woman before snatching her phone, after which the suspects fled towards Nyayo Stadium.
Detectives launched investigations that led them to Kariobangi, where they arrested one of the suspects, identified as John Kamiti Nderitu.
The stolen Samsung S24 Ultra was recovered during the operation, alongside the motorcycle allegedly used in the robbery. The motorcycle, registration number KMHA 861F, a Boxer, was detained as an exhibit.
The DCI said the search for the second suspect, who remains at large, is ongoing.
