The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has condemned the reported abduction and disappearance of advocate Abshir Ahmedsadak Abdi of Abshir & Njagi Advocates, whose whereabouts remain unknown.

In a statement, the society said Abdi was reportedly abducted on November 2, 2026, along Muchai Road, off Ngong Road in Nairobi.

LSK raised concern over reports that the individuals involved were armed, with some allegedly dressed in police uniforms.

The society also noted concerns that his disappearance could be linked to his role as a complainant and key witness in a criminal case before the Makadara Law Courts.

It called for urgent, independent and impartial investigations into the reported threats and intimidation, demanding that the National Police Service, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) establish his whereabouts and ensure his safe return.

LSK further called for all those found culpable to be held accountable.

The society said the safety and security of advocates must be guaranteed, adding that legal professionals should not face intimidation or attacks for carrying out their professional duties.

It also expressed solidarity with Abdi’s family, colleagues and the wider legal fraternity, reiterating its demand for his immediate production and accountability.
